Nazdárek
Mám nový notebook thinkpad L520 (5015-A81 (http://www.lapstars.de/Thinkpad-UNI/FH/L520-UNI/FH/Thinkpad-L520-5015A81/5015CTO.html)). Nainštaloval som si tam ubuntu 11.10, následne som ho upgradol na 12.04, pretože som dúfal, že sa tým vyriešia problémy, ale nepomohlo :)
Problém je, že boot mi trvá vyše 5 minút. Keď som upgradoval z 11.10 na 12.04, trvalo to deň aj 6 hodín (celý čas blikala kontrolka disku, System Load Indicator nadával tiež iba na disk), pritom starší notebook si s tou istou úlohou (z 11.04 na 11.10) poradil za ani nie pol dňa.
Tu sú dva riadky z dmesg s najväčším časovým odstupom (sú to asi 4 minúty):

Myslíte, že to môže byť problém? Prípadne v kombinácii so sandy bridge? Pri štarte mi vypisuje chybu error: sparse file not allowed (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/464743), ale ako som sa dozvedel, momentáne fix neexistuje. Pomôže mi zmena filesystemu? Alebo stačia len nejaké nastavenia?
V podstate nemám problém celý systém preinštalovať, keďže som ho ešte nezačal používať ako hlavný, ale predsa len som tam už nahádzal hromadu softvéru, čo by mi zase zabralo hromadu času.

btrfs - vyvojovy fs - good luck ;-)
duvod pomaleho hdd - hadam ze nemate zaplne DMA, vse ostatni by nebylo tak pomale. U tehle modelu byl kvuli tomu tusim i upgrade biosu ...

zdravim, co hovori smartctl? a vystup hdparm -Tt /dev/sda ?

Ja by som to tiež typoval na to btrfs.

Ten výkon disku podla hdparm máš dobre. Na mojom starom disku (80GB) v notebooku mam toto:
/dev/sda:

Timing buffered disk reads: 108 MB in 3.10 seconds = 34.88 MB/sec
Je jasné, že by som privítal vyšší výkon, ale necítim žiadne veľké nedostatky. Idem na ext4.
